Tercios Del Muerte - GTimothy Gordon

TERCIOS DEL MUERTE

(After Miles Davis)

1
The night is bait.
Stars haunt the shadows of caves.
Somewhere Miles hips
loneliness from a cone.
Measures the moon.

2
Drums fall out
of Madrid and the night
arches like Belmonte’s
frozen back until there is
no more arch.

3
Plain notes to nowhere
and the wobbly stars
become a goatsong.
The knife night recites Solea.
With cold killing control.
