Idiosyncratic - Hallie Fogarty

Fruit bruises to the bone.
Two plus two is always four and every time I think of you
I picture a knife. I cut myself
on the can and get a drop of blood in your vegetable soup.
I serve it to you anyway.
I don’t know how to live everyday seeing the same face.
I sneak into our bed at night and cut your hair
so I have something new to look at.
